Welcome to AGA Charleston WV Chapter

Hello! My name is Lisa Rutherford, and I am looking forward to serving as your president for the 2026-2027 year! My involvement with the Charleston AGA Chapter spans several years, including the past two years as Treasurer. With sixteen years at the WV State Treasurer’s Office and twenty‑eight years of internal audit experience across public and private sectors, I’m passionate about strengthening accountability and supporting the professionals who uphold it. Outside of work, I enjoy my church community, crafting and sewing, tending to my plants, and spending time with my dogs Dixie and Yogi. One of the best parts of AGA membership has been the chance to meet and network with professionals across different agencies. Those connections make a real difference in our work. Our training opportunities are another huge benefit. AGA is committed to promoting transparency and accountability at all levels of government, and our chapter supports that mission by offering 30+ hours of CPE each year, with several opportunities for free CPE to AGA Chapter members throughout the year. Additionally, we offer other affordable CPE opportunities including our annual Spring and Fall conferences, both with discount rates to membership. Our AGA members also receive discounts for CPE offer through AGA National. All of our CPE is approved by the West Virginia Board of Accountancy and counts toward both your CPA and CGFM requirements. I’m thrilled to announce that we’ll be offering even more free CPE opportunities in the coming year!
